Stitches is a 40-page limited-edition color gallery book published on the occasion of fiber artist Mark Newport’s solo exhibition Stitches, on view at Simone DeSousa Gallery in Detroit, Michigan, from January 13 – March 3, 2018. The book includes a new essay by Nicole Archer, Assistant Professor in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art at the San Francisco Art Institute, where her teaching explores politics and aesthetics through close examinations of style, embodiment, and desire. Archer researches contemporary art and design, with an emphasis in modern textile and garment histories.
